I am working in a couple of projects related to copper homeostasis in Pseudomonas. On one hand, I am preparing vectors to express various proteins and setting up protocols. On the other, I am helping Julia Quintana process RNA-Seq data.
What brought you to WPI?
I came to WPI for the project-based curriculum, the great opportunities for undergraduate research, and its challenging environment.

What are your research interests?
I wanted to do interdisciplinary research that combines my interest in the various fields of Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, and Microbiology. I was able to found it at Professor Argüello’s lab.

What will you be doing immediately following your time at WPI?
After WPI, I want to continue to graduate school and get a PhD.

What are your long term professional goals?
After I gain enough experience, my ultimate goal is to return home to the Dominican Republic, and develop science in my country by starting my own research lab.
